Saigo is the name of a samurai, Saigo was born in 1827 in southern Japan. His life was forged strongly with a samurai ethos with Bushido, way of the warrior, Swordsman. He dared to face death, loyal to the master, Shogun (Emperor).

For nearly two centuries more Japanese society rejected modernity, including firearms. They remained with the ancestral traditions of samurai swords. That makes the atmosphere of Japan in the early 1980-an equal to the condition 250 years earlier.

However, during Saigo's time, Japan was no longer able to stem the currents and invasion of modernity. The arrival of American merchants and the need for a modern army is the Samurai and his sword to the past.

The Japanese want to remain in the ancestral tradition, Saigo Takamori chose the road of rebellion. But Saigo is not a conservative. He was a scholar, poet, General, and Cabinet minister who sought to realize the essence of his society. His life and death drove the last samurai to become one of Japan's greatest heroes.

Saigo is a Japanese revolosi activator who, at the same time, is also the victim. His rebellion with 300 well-planned soldiers ultimately fared badly. He was surrounded by 35,000 emperor troops with complete weapons and cannons.

This was what brought him to death by suicide and did not want to accept the reality of modernization, after being shot by the emperor in 1877. Saigo dies at hiding in a cave in Kaghosima, Siroyama and is currently Saigo cave. Suicide for the Japanese population is considered an honor and strangely there are still many who embrace the misunderstood.
